Relatively severe misreporting of sodium, potassium and protein intake among female dietitians compared with non-dietitians

To investigate the hypothesis that misreporting observed in dietary assessments would be associated with nutrition knowledge and health consciousness, we compared the degree of misreporting between 99 female dietitians and 117 non-dietitians who worked at welfare facilities in Japan. Sodium, potassium, and protein intake were assessed by two 24-h urine collections, four-day semi-weighed dietary records, and two validated diet history questionnaires. Intake of these three nutrients measured by each method was compared.
