It’s great to hear that the changes Mark has made to his diet and lifestyle have allowed him to do his favorite things once again. – Dr. Perlmutter Three years ago my weight was up to 165 lbs. (I am 5-7 tall, was 62 at the time). One day, my wife wife just looked at me and said, “Enough!” We went on the HCG diet that a coworker had lost about 30 lbs. on. I lost about 8 lbs. and noticed that my joints were no longer aching. This had been a common affliction all my adult life. I had always attributed it to a severe penicillin reaction when I was 7. But, when I began to eat my favorite foods again and the aches & pain returned! I was tested and found I was sensitive to gluten. I immediately started a gluten-free diet and felt 100% better within weeks but started putting on weight again. It has been a struggle to keep my weight below 160. When we heard about Grain Brain, we bought the book immediately and began following your recommendations. My weight was 153.3 lbs. this morning. I am loving the weight loss almost as much as the great food. I recently was diagnosed with a mild case of anemia, probably due to esophageal abrasions. Due to the anemia, I have not played golf in over a year. I walk when I play and knew I would never make it. I will start with 9 holes next week, and am walking 3-5 miles 3 or 4 times per week now. -Mark B. The post Mark B. appeared first on David Perlmutter M.D..
