Primary Care Curricular Integration: An Incremental and Emergent Approach (Randall Longenecker MD)

Charged with a goal of matching 70% of 2020 graduates into primary care specialties, the presenters could not wait for through-going curricular reform. They took an incremental and emergent approach from complexity science. This session will describe several strategies inspired by this framework, including the successful implementation of an Introduction to Primary Care Medicine block for all students in their first week of medical school, a small group strategy called Clinical Jazz, and a number of others.
