Conclusion The prevalence of left ventricular geometric alteration and diastolic dysfunction is high among hypertensive patients at Kubu Village. Our study also found that majority of patient with known history of long-standing hypertension also have evidence of left ventricular geometry alteration. This result warrants the need for improved achievement of blood pressure goals alongside with aggressive screening for end organ damage in hypertensive patients, especially at rural area.
