European Medicines Agency Pushes for Empliciti for the Treatment of Multiple Myeloma

The Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) reviewed the monoclonal antibody Empliciti® (elotuzumab) as part of the European Medicine Agency's (EMA) accelerated assessment program. After review, CHMP recommended that Empliciti® should be used in combination with lenalidomide and dexamethasone for multiple myeloma patients who have received at least one prior therapy. This EMA recommendation will be sent to the European Commission of the European Union, the body that will make the final decision on authorizing the marketing of Empliciti®'s use.
