An acute, epitope‐specific modification in the dopamine transporter associated with methamphetamine‐induced neurotoxicity

Using antibodies directed against its N‐terminus, the authors identified a heretofore unreported, epitope‐specific modification in the dopamine transporter caused by methamphetamine that correlates temporally with a decrease in its function, and may be predictive of the persistent dopaminergic deficits that can be caused by the stimulant.
