Evaluation of the Systemic Inflammatory Response Syndrome criteria for the diagnosis of sepsis due to maternal bacteremia

Conclusion In maternal bacteremia, customized SIRS criteria do not increase the rate of diagnosis of sepsis. Prospective studies should investigate whether the introduction of customized SIRS criteria can improve clinical outcomes.
