Minor surgery procedures: A prospective and retrospective study involving a pediatric populationThe emergence of outpatient and ambulatory clinics has reduced the anxiety associated with hospitalization, in addition to contributing to cost effectiveness and reduction in wait times for many procedures. Despite supportive evidence, however, the contemporary literature regarding minor surgery procedures in the pediatric population and ambulatory clinics is not robust. Furthermore, some surgeons are hesitant to offer these procedures to younger patients in outpatient settings for several reasons.
