Although omalizumab treatment has proven to be successful over the past decade, the authors of this article describe a case involving a 56-year-old woman with severe allergic asthma and report a possible, previously unknown association between omalizumab therapy and cutaneous sarcoidosis. Making a timely diagnosis of pulmonary tuberculosisAlthough tuberculosis (TB) is a public health problem, it appears to especially affect impoverished and minority groups regardless of geographical location. The priorities of any TB control program are to halt further transmission, and to identify and treat individuals with latent TB infection with risk factors for reactivation.
