IS THERE A DIFFERENCE IN THE INCIDENCE OF HELICOBACTER PYLORI INFECTION IN PATIENTS WITH SOME CHRONIC DISEASES? Roum Arch Microbiol Immunol. 2014 Jul-Dec;73(3-4):65-8 Authors: Constantinescu CA, Constantinescu EM Abstract Globally, Helicobacter pylori infection is estimated to be present in two-thirds of the population. This longitudinal, observational, comparative case-control study conducted in the county of Braşov on 763 subjects split into two groups: one with Helicobacter pylori infection (412 people) and the other without infection (351 people) allowed us to compare our results with other international epidemiological studies. Thus, statistical interpretation of results indicates diabetes as an indifferent factor in the interrelation with Helicobacter pylori infection, while asthma and hypertension might be considered as protective factors.
