An overview of delirium for the community and hospital clinician

Despite an increasing prevalence of delirium in hospitals and community settings, it is a condition often overlooked by clinicians and this carries considerable cost implications for the NHS. In this review, Dr Raju and Dr Coombe‐Jones describe risk factors for delirium, symptoms, how to diagnose and manage delirium, and finally, what prospects prognosis can hold.
