Psychonomic Society

The Psychonomic Society is open to those who are interested in experimental psychology, but mainly its members work with cognitive psychology.  The Psychonomic Society “broke off” from the APA in 1959 due to the APA being focused on clinical psychology. Also, to be a member of the Psychonomic Society, a member must hold a Ph.D. (or equivalent) degree in their field and have published significant research other than their dissertation.
