Altered NMDA receptor function in primary cultures of hippocampal neurons from mice lacking the Homer2 gene
In conclusion, NMDA receptor function, but not ethanol sensitivity, is reduced in hippocampal neurons lacking the Homer2 gene. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.
Using whole‐cell voltage‐clamp electrophysiology, we demonstrate that constitutive deletion of Homer2 reduces NMDA receptor current density in cultured mature, hippocampal neurons, without influencing the sensitivity of the receptor to alcohol or GluN2b‐selective antagonists.
