Association between high arterial stiffness and left ventricular filling pressures in patients with acute myocardial infarction.

CONCLUSIONS: High arterial stiffness is an independent risk factor for LV diastolic dysfunction in acute MI. Because arterial stiffness is a modifiable factor, it is possible that reducing arterial stiffness may improve LV diastolic function in patients who survived acute MI.
