Comparison between squatting versus supine (lithotomy) positions during the passive second stage of labor without epidural anesthesia in nulliparous women: a prospective cohort study

Conclusion: The use of the squatting position in managing the second stage of labor results in less instrumental delivery, extension of episiotomy, perineal tear, and shoulder dystocia compared with the supine position. Both methods showed no statistically significant difference in terms of fetal well-being or the need for fetal resuscitation.
