Updates to the Adult and Adolescent Opportunistic Infections Guidelines

The Bacterial Enteric Infections section of the Guidelines for the Prevention and Treatment of Opportunistic Infections in HIV-Infected Adults and Adolescents was recently updated. This update provides new data on ciprofloxacin resistance in Shigella sonnei and improved clinical success when Clostridium difficile infection (CDI) is treated with vancomycin. Limited data suggest fecal microbiota therapy for recurrent CDI may be safe and successful in HIV-infected patients.
