The potential role of fascin and HER2/neu in predicting invasion in urothelial carcinoma

Conclusion: Our results showed an association between fascin immunostaining and urothelial carcinoma invasiveness and suggest that fascin overexpression may be a marker of aggressive urothelial carcinomas. High levels of HER2/neu protein overexpression were also observed in pTa/T1 and pT2, with no significant difference (P=0.06), suggesting that high-level protein overexpression occurs before tumor progression.
