Citicoline has early effect on cocaine use in bipolar disorder patients

The endogenous nucleotide citicoline was effective in reducing cocaine use in a group of outpatients with cocaine dependence and bipolar I disorder, but the effects of the treatment diminished somewhat over time, a new study has found. Citicoline did not result in significant differences from placebo in manic or depressive symptoms, the researchers found.
