Abstract Major international initiative tackles dementia The G8 countries have agreed measures that will increase funding for research into treatments for dementia with the goal of identifying a cure or disease‐modifying therapy by 2025. At a meeting in London hosted by the UK Government, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, the UK and the USA pledged to appoint a ‘global dementia innovation envoy’ who can utilise ‘international expertise to stimulate innovation and co‐ordinate international efforts to attract new sources of finance’.
