Intracerebral Schwannoma in Parietooccipital Lobe

Intracerebral schwannomas, which do not arise from the cranial nerves, are very rarely reported and have presented a diagnostic problem for the clinical community in the past. Because of its rarity, the pathophysiology is still unclear. Here, we describe the diagnosis and treatment of an intracerebral schwannoma in the parietooccipital lobe of a 21-year-old man, where microsurgical resection has led to satisfactory results in long-term prognosis.
