Oral melanoma is an aggressive malignant tumor and the most common oral malignancy in dogs. It is most frequently located in the gingiva, although it can be found in any location, including the lip, tongue, and palate. Oral melanomas can vary in appearance from heavily pigmented to amelanotic, and they can be ulcerated and necrotic.
