Clinical insights by the presence of bipolar disorder in pseudohypoparathyroidism type 1A
We report a new case with both clinical entities and discuss the potential pathophysiological mechanisms of this association (Protein Kinase A hypoactivation, parathyroid hormone, hypocalcemia, Protein Kinase C activation,Vitamin D deficiency). In this patient, the correction of the underlying calcium and vitamin D deficiencies lead to a better BD outcome and lower dosage of psychopharmacological agents.Calcium and Vitamin D supplementation in this patient, improved several core psychiatric symptoms and enhanced the action of psychopharmacological therapy.
