Extremely drug resistant TB has been diagnosed in a man who traveled from India and then through 3 states before he presented for evaluation. He is now being treated at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. Extremely drug resistant TB is defined as being resistant to four of the major drugs used to treat the infection.
