Understanding the UK Medical School Entry Process for US grads

Hello: I need some help understanding the Medical School admission process in the UK. I am an undergraduate at a U Cal graduating in 2016 with a B.S. in Biological Sciences. For personal reasons, I would like to move to UK and attempt to pursue a degree in Medicine. I have the qualifications needed at least in paper to come across "as a very competitive applicant." Can someone enlighten me about which program I need to apply to? What is referred to as postgraduate studies in medicine, in the US is considered a medical residency or fellowship. I understand that are different programs but obviously I do not qualify as a high school graduate. Also, does anyone know if US students are admitted to Uk Med schools or they are given second priority? I would truly appreciate it if someone out there in the community can provide me with some concrete and straightforward answers. Thank you in advance
