Late rupture of extensor pollicis longus as a complication of treatment of forearm both bone fracture with the new intramedullary nail

Abstract
Late tendon rupture of extensor pollicis longus as a complication of treatment of adult forearm both bone fracture with the intramedullary nail is a rare complication. Intramedullary fixation of forearm fractures is an accepted and reliable minimally invasive technique possessing a risk of late extensor pollicis tendon rupture due to wearing caused by the distal end of the nail. We are presenting this case in order to make the orthopedic surgeons keep in mind this rare complication and determine possible pitfalls in intramedullary nailing.
