Risk factors for surgical glove perforation

Estimates of surgical site infections (SSIs) after clean surgical procedures in veterinary medicine range from 3% to 42% depending on the procedure and definition of infection used. Nosocomial multi-drug resistant staphylococcal infections together with possibilities of human/animal transmission of resistant strains are likely to ensure that infection prevention measures remain of central importance.
