Classification of Multiple Sclerosis Lesions using Adaptive Dictionary Learning
Multiple sclerosis is a chronic, autoimmune disease of the central nervous system (CNS). It is characterized by the structural damages of axons and their myelin sheathes. Magnetic resonance imaging is the best paraclinical method for the diagnosis of MS, assessment of disease progression and treatment efficacy [1,2]. These images are analyzed to find the number and spatial patterns of the lesions, appearance of new lesions and the total lesion load, which are key parameters in the current MS diagnostic setup.
