Soldier to doctor- can it be done?

Hi everyone, I am here to seek advise/guidance or anything from anyone that's been through similar obstacles in pursuit of their ambitions in becoming a doctor. So a bit about me, I served in the UK Army for 10 years and served overseas on 3 separate occasions and during these tours was used as a team medic as well as my normal role.(not to be confused with a full time army medic). I did however have the opportunity to deal first hand with real trauma situations on a unfortunately frequent basis. Very early on i realised that a career in medicine is what i truly wanted to do with my life hence my journey now begins. To make the situation even more complex, I did secondary education in Canada there for hold no GCSE or A levels. I am currently gaining 5 GCSE's through distance learning(Biology,Physics,Chemistry,Mathematics higher and English language). Clearly I would be expecting A's and B's in all if not all A's. further to that i am planning on completing 4 A levels(Physic's, Chemistry, Biology and Math). I am currently volunteering at the hospital 4 hours a week in both clinical and non clinical posts and see this to continue for the foreseeable future. Clearly my ambitions are to apply for the school year starting Sept/Oct 2017 and i have not sat the UKCAT test yet but i am studying for it already with the "Get into Medical School - 600 UKCAT Practice Questions" Is there anyone else out there that is or has been on this journey and has any advise to offer?...
