An unusual presentation of acute electrocution

Lisfranc injuries are associated with significant morbidity and early recognition and treatment is imperative. To date, there has been no description of this injury arising from electrocution. We describ the unusual presentation of a Lisfranc injury in a diabetic patient caused by electrocution of the midfoot. We discuss the surgical management of this case and review the anatomical and pathomechanical considerations of the Lisfranc injury.
